Thanks for taking time to complete this application for the 2025 OHA’s Mentored Deer Hunt.
This is a rifle only deer hunt, only mature antlerless whitetail deer may be harvested (limit 2 per hunter). All hunters will be partnered with an experienced mentor. All hunts will be from a ground blind overlooking a feeder.
All applications will be considered and reviewed by the OHA. The OHA will make the final selection and notified the selected hunters by phone and/or email.
A non-refundable Application fee of $25 must be paid upon completion of the application.
Selected hunters must pay the required lodging and meals fee of $250 plus taxes within 5 days of the email notification.
Failure to pay the required fee will be cause for forfeiture of the hunt.
Eligibility Requirements
Dates of Hunt: December 19, 20 and 21
Location of Hunt: Tatanka Ranch, Stroud, Oklahoma
Harvest Limit – Two antlerless deer per hunter.
Only 5 hunters will be selected for this hunt.
- Hunters must be 18 years of age or older.
- Only hunters that have NOT harvested a deer in the last 5 years will be considered.
- Hunters are required to complete a Hunter Education course approved by the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation (ODWC). This requirement applies to all hunters, even if they are otherwise exempt under the ODWC rules.
- There is a $25 nonrefundable application fee.
Upon notification of being selected the hunter will be required to pay $250 + Taxes and Includes Two nights lodging at the Tatanka Ranch and meals (nonrefundable) within 10 days of notification of a successful application. Failure to pay the required fee will be cause for forfeiture of the hunt.

Guests: Spouses or significant others are welcome to accompany the hunter during the Deer Hunting 101 Classes, safety briefings, at the range, deer camp and to share lodging. However, guests are not allowed to accompany the hunter during the hunt.
All safety briefings and Deer Hunting 101 Workshop are led by subject matter experts and mentors are experienced hunters.

- 11:00 Hunters will arrive at the Tatanka Ranch
- 11:00 am to 12:00 noon room assignments and settle in
- 12:00 to 12:30 Lunch will be served
- 12:30 to 5:00 pm Deer Hunting 101 Workshop
- 5:30 to 7:00 pm Dinner and old fashion Deer Camp
Saturday, December 20
- 8:00 am Breakfast
- 9:00 am Deer Hunting 101, Safety Briefing and Range Time
- 12:00 Noon Lunch
- 1:30 pm hunters depart for deer hunt with mentor
- Official hunting ends at 5:37 pm
- 5:00 pm Field dress, quarter deer observation and hands on
- 6:30 pm Dinner and old fashion deer Camp
