About the 2026 Deer Conference
The 8th Annual OHA/ODWC Deer Hunting Conference and Expo will be August 15, 2026.
Registration is NOW Open
The 2026 conference will be back at the Metro Tech Springlake Campus located at 1900 Springlake Drive Oklahoma City, OK 73111.
The Oklahoma Deer Hunting Conference is one of the largest deer hunting education events in Oklahoma. It is organized by the Oklahoma Hunters & Anglers (OHA) in partnership with the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation (ODWC) and focuses heavily on hunter education, conservation, and improving success in the field rather than simply promoting products or raising money.
For 2026, the event is the 8th Annual OHA/ODWC Deer Hunting Conference & Expo, scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Metro Tech Springlake Campus in Oklahoma City. The conference runs from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and is expected to host around 300 attendees.
What makes the conference unique is its educational format. Instead of one or two speakers, attendees can choose from more than 20 deer hunting experts presenting roughly 35 different breakout sessions throughout the day. Topics typically range from beginner-level subjects such as finding places to hunt, scouting, stand placement, and deer biology to advanced topics like habitat management, bow tuning, trail cameras, tracking wounded deer, field care, and hunting tactics.
The conferences will feature these topics and more:
- Deer Biology 101 and 102
- Thinking Like a Deer
- Scouting and stand placement
- Bow hunting tactics and advanced bow tuning
- Deer regulations
- Trail camera strategies
- Tracking after the shot
- Field-to-fork meat processing
- Ladies-only sessions
- First aid and “Stop the Bleed” training for hunters
The conference also includes:
- Vendor and exhibitor booths
- Keynote speakers
- Lunch for attendees
- Raffles and Door prizes
- Fundraising raffles supporting conservation and educational programs
- Opportunities to meet hunting television personalities, wildlife biologists, game wardens, and experienced hunters from across Oklahoma.
The event has grown significantly from its origins. What started as a Deer Hunting 101 workshop in 2019 has evolved into a statewide conference that attracts hunters ranging from complete beginners to seasoned veterans looking to sharpen their skills.
If someone is new to deer hunting in Oklahoma, this conference is probably one of the fastest ways to gain a year’s worth of knowledge in a single day. Likewise, experienced hunters often attend to learn advanced tactics, keep up with regulations, and connect with other hunters and conservationists.
