Welcome to
Oklahoma Hunters and Anglers

The People Behind OHA

At Oklahoma Hunters & Anglers, we’re fortunate to have a group of people who are willing to roll up their sleeves and put in the time to make a difference for Oklahoma’s outdoors.

Our Board of Directors is made up of volunteers from different backgrounds and with different experiences, but we all have one thing in common — we care about Oklahoma, our wildlife and fishery resources, and the hunting and fishing heritage we want to pass on to the next generation.

OHA isn’t about one person or one idea. It’s about working together with Oklahoma’s hunters, anglers, landowners, conservation organizations, the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation, and others who share our commitment to keeping Oklahoma’s outdoor opportunities strong.

A lot of what we do happens behind the scenes. Our Board members give their time, experience, and often their own resources to help move OHA forward. Whether it’s supporting habitat projects, helping introduce someone to hunting or fishing, working on R3 programs, supporting conservation efforts, or simply lending a hand when it’s needed — our goal is always the same: make a difference right here in Oklahoma.

We’re proud that OHA is Oklahoma-centric and volunteer-driven. We don’t have a paid staff. We have people who believe in what we’re doing and are willing to get involved.

That’s what “Raised Here – Stays Here” means to us. We want the resources and support OHA receives to go to work right here in Oklahoma, helping protect and enhance the outdoor opportunities that mean so much to all of us.

So, take a few minutes and get to know the people behind OHA. Each Board member brings something different to the table, but we’re all working toward the same goal — making sure Oklahoma’s hunting, fishing, wildlife, and outdoor heritage is here for generations to come.

We’re proud to serve Oklahoma, and we’re even prouder to serve alongside the people who make OHA what it is.

Rick Nolan

President, Oklahoma Hunters & Anglers

For Rick Nolan, hunting, fishing, and the outdoors have always been more than hobbies—they’re a way of life. Growing up around the outdoors and spending years hunting and fishing, Rick believes strongly that we have a responsibility to make sure those opportunities are here for our kids and grandkids.

Rick serves as President of Oklahoma Hunters & Anglers (OHA), a 100% volunteer-driven conservation organization focused on Oklahoma’s wildlife, fisheries, hunting and fishing heritage, and the people who enjoy them.

One of Rick’s biggest priorities is R3—Recruitment, Retention and Reactivation of hunters and anglers. He believes creating lifelong hunters and anglers takes more than simply giving someone a chance to go hunting or fishing. People need someone willing to teach them, answer questions, and help build their confidence.

Rick is especially passionate about helping adults who want to learn to hunt or fish but may not have grown up with someone to teach them. When you help one adult become comfortable in the outdoors, you may be creating an entire family tradition.

Rick also believes conservation is something we all share responsibility for. Through OHA, he enjoys working with the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation, conservation partners, businesses, landowners, and volunteers on projects that directly benefit Oklahoma’s fish and wildlife resources.

A philosophy Rick strongly believes in is “Raised Here – Stays Here.” When OHA raises money, recruits volunteers, or receives support, the goal is to put those resources to work right here in Oklahoma.

Rick’s goal is simple: protect Oklahoma’s outdoor heritage, create more hunters and anglers, and leave our wildlife and fisheries better than we found them.

He’s proud to be part of an organization where volunteers roll up their sleeves and get things done—and where the size of the organization matters far less than the people who care enough to get involved.

Raised Here – Stays Here.
